He and his family were forcefully taken to Germany during WW2. He still remembers some fragments from that time, when he was just 6 years old.

“When the Allied forced tried to liberate the village of Schlierschit near Koblenz, an American soldier who was driving a jeep got shot. They backed off immediately and started shelling the area.
Then I remember how my father took me by the hand and we ran across the field to a cave, where we reunited with my mom and sisters.“

When the war broke out in Ukraine he was hesitant to leave. But when it got more and more violent he did. He is now safe in Poland.
